Tasha Golden, PhD
is a public health researcher and innovator who studies the impacts of arts, culture, and aesthetics on well-being, health research, and clinical practice. Dr. Golden has recently presented or consulted for the International Arts + Mind Lab at Johns Hopkins Medicine; the national “Creating Healthy Communities” Initiative (University of Florida, ArtPlace America); Grantmakers in Health, and the Trust for Public Land.
Golden’s visionary work is bolstered by her career as an artist and entrepreneur. As singer-songwriter for the critically acclaimed band Ellery, she toured full-time in the US and abroad, and her songs have been in feature films and TV dramas. Now holding a PhD in Public Health Sciences, Golden draws on her background to develop innovative partnerships and practices that optimize health access, inclusivity, and communications.
Golden is sought out nationally to present on her work, and he consults for organizations and initiatives to develop creative, research-based strategies that further their goals. She also founded writing workshops for incarcerated teen women in OH and KY—who are among her greatest teachers.
