Tasha Golden, PhD
is a public health researcher and consultant whose work is bolstered by her career in the arts. As frontwoman and songwriter for the critically acclaimed band Ellery, Golden toured full-time for many years throughout the US and abroad, and her songs have been in feature films and TV dramas.
Now in Public Health, Dr. Golden draws on her unique background to develop transdisciplinary, cross-sector partnerships and practices that increase health access, inclusivity, and equity. Her research has often centered on public health responses to mental health and trauma; she works to innovate communications, develop new research methods, and theorize population-level implications of clinical and therapeutic findings.
Dr. Golden consults for organizations and initiatives to develop creative, research-based strategies that further their goals. She is sought out nationally to present on intersections of well-being, health equity, innovation, and arts/culture; she also leads writing workshops for incarcerated teen women in OH and KY—who are among her greatest teachers.
